Need suggestions for good children's picture book to go with gardening theme gift... please read more!?

Question: There are many birthdays coming up in August/September in my family. The kids are going to range between 3-5 years old. I have decided that I will no longer contribute to the useless toys that have no educational value that they receive mountains of from the rest of the family


Answer: There's the classic --The Carrot Seed.

Or Lois Ehlert's -- Growing Vegetable Soup (among other books she's written about the subject of growing).

Answer: What about a mixing bowl, measuring cup, measuring spoons and a simple cookbook with the ingredients to make something in the cookbook. If your flush, an apron would be a fun addition. You can do this to fit the various ages.

So, things between Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) have escalated to two kisses now, and a declaration of love, followed by the sort of behaviour demonstrated by 8 year olds in the playground.  One minute they are deliberately ignoring each other, the next they are arranging to meet in secret and play video games.  Seems harmless enough but Father in Law, Sandy (Freddie Jones) has noticed, and after convincing son, Ashley (John Middleton) that he is not ready for the scrap yard of soap care homes, he tells laurel that he is watching her!  Poor laurel is racked with guilt, especially as Sandy thinks the care home was her idea to get him out of the way (and very possibly for dumping her kids on best friend, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) - AKA the toddler biter, whilst she frolics with Marlon in the land of pixi-lix bowling).
