I've spent two days getting all the weeds out,

Answer: if the stones are just an inch or two on the top, they shouldn't bother anything - just turn them in with the soil. After all weeds have been removed, dig down 8-12 inches at least, and break up all the soil. Add about 3-4 sacks of compost (better than topsoil, and usually cheaper)

Rescued a spotted salamander? Sick?

Question: While gardening, I was shoveling some garden soil into a wheel barrel and a fairly large, maybe 4.5 inch, spotted salamander tumbled off of my shovel. He wasn't moving that much, but he was alive. He must have been in the pile the whole time since we don't have salamanders around

Answer: Take it to the vet,if he's okay spend some time with him and give him food,DON'T set him free because 8 MILLION rabbits, cats and dogs are abandoned each year and die by disease, get eaten, or starve to death by owners that think that's best for them.So please keep the poor thing.
