My mother and god-sister are planning on throwing me a baby shower, in just a month or so. My family is majority from the Caribbean (Haiti, Bahamas, and Dominican Republic) English is sort of limited for the older generations. I was born in FL so my views on

You were born in the US. You are having the party in the US. If you want to embrace US traditions then do it. It's not wrong. If you want games, have games.

As for tables, I'd set them up so your family and his family can each have a table. It may seem awkward
